What Is A Copycat Crime

What is a copycat crime?

A copycat crime is a criminal act that is  inspired by a previous crime, typically one that has received a significant amount of media coverage. The perpetrator of a copycat crime may attempt to mimic the details of the original crime, or may simply be influenced by the idea of the crime itself. Copycat crimes can include mass shootings, serial killings, and terrorist attacks. Such a crime would be attacks on TTC attacks in Toronto that seems to be happening daily now.  Mainly younger people trying to scare people and succeeding in doing just that. I guess police and politicians are blaming it on mental health.
Yes that’s part of it. But the problem goes back further then that. It starts in 2001 when the Canadian Government came up with section 43 of the criminal code which means a parent can only use minimal force on their child. That’s fine but every young person uses that against their parents to call the police on them if they touch them in any way. Parents aren’t able to discipline their children. I believe that is where the problem lays.
Young people from years ago where much better behaved. Since section 43 its been downhill from there.
